NSA’s open budget is around 10 billion. Snowden said it was around 50 billion off the books per year for surveillance and data collection in 2012, if I recall. They can’t even tell us how many work for the NSA, it is estimated between 30,000 and 40,000. The NSA is the largest employer in Maryland.

Turnout for congressional elections is usually around 40% of eligible voters. In 2014 there was a 60 year low with 36% of eligible voters deigning to vote. Most of the public just simply doesn’t care, at least enough to vote about it.
