Look, I’m just as fretful about the March of the Robots as any other American, but somehow, I think Stephen is overreacting just a bit. If the end scenario is truly so dire, then promote congress to build a safety net of preventive laws. I agree we should be worried, very worried about robotic systems soaking up too many jobs from humans.
I don’t spend much time thinking the robotic systems will rise up and destroy us. This is Stephen current nightmare.
That horror is far less an immediate threat than the culture shock of millions of people who are suddenly unemployable.
I am hopeful that when the robots become self - aware, it includes a sense of humor. Then they will be more likely to keep us around for their amusement.
