Maybe, but the Afghans were pleasantly surprised at the detail of the calls they had, and the questions, and follow-up questions they received from Trump. Somebody did the President a great disservice by telling the Afghans that, and they should be corrected.

That’s why it is called “an Executive Summary”.

As you get older and wiser - well there is an assumption there - you realize that if they can't tell you what you need to know in a page or two, they can't tell you at all. It's less about helping the senior guy know how to think than it is about teaching the guys who write this stuff about how to think.

It's the old phrase in "Alice in Wonderland" if you don't know where you are going then any way will get you there.
