Rand Paul: McCain ‘past his prime,’ maybe ‘unhinged’
Legal Insurrection ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 03/16/2017 6:25:09 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Payback is a . . . Rand Paul. After John McCain, speaking on the Senate floor yesterday, accused Paul of “working for Vladimir Putin,” Paul had a crushing comeback on today’s Morning Joe.

Said Paul, “he makes a really, really strong case for term limits. I think maybe he’s past his prime. I think maybe he’s gotten a little bit unhinged.”

The people of Arizona need to correct this mistake. They put him there.

Too late for that, constitutionally. They had their chance in 2014. Now we're all stuck with the SOB until 2020.

The only way to get rid of him is for the Senate to expel him. And that's not gonna happen.

McCain is saying Montenegro is threatened by Russia. Has he looked at a map?Montenegro is closer to Madrid than to Moscow. Things happen when you’re 80. Things happen when you spend seven years in hell. Combine those two and maybe Rand Paul is right and it is time for McCain to be closely observed and for his Senate colleagues to perhaps consider a forced retirement, for his good, the Senate’s and the country’s

Anybody know why Montenegro needs to be added to NATO in the first place besides the security of being under the NATA umbrella to blunt Putin geopolitical ambitions?

They have around 650,000 people in country and helped by sending in 40 soldiers, 3 officers and a medical team into Afghanistan in the 2,010

Being Rand Paul is a non-interventionist, I understand why he has that position.

McCain is off the rails, he could just as easily moved on and let Paul walk out... .

It is sickening to see all this public fighting between Republicans.

I wish McCain would go away. At least shut up.

If there is any doubt which party is truly “open-minded”, it should be obvious by all the discord (including breaking ranks to be ind. or TP, etc).

“McCain ‘past his prime,’ maybe ‘unhinged’”

a} McCain never had a prime because having a prime implies you
once did something once accomplished something in your life. In McCain’s case there is no proof of that
b} Saying someone has been “unhinged” assumes the person was previously hinged. In McCain’s case there is no proof of that
either.

It's another worthless nation that'll contribute absolutely nothing to the Alliance, but just be there to take, take, take.

Does anyone really think U.S. soldiers should die for Montenegro's integrity?

There is something wrong with McCain

The dems are using whatever demons possess him with their whole "bad Russia" narrative. The other Senate 'pubs could stop this NOW by threatening him with war crimes for arming terrorists.

I'm hoping Rand Paul finds his voice. He has been somewhat of a disappointment in the US Senate, albeit with some brilliant, effective moments.

This might be the silver linings of McCain's maniacal verbal bullying of Senator Paul. Senator Paul is finding his voice.

Obviously, McCain does and according to him almost of the Senate...

But of course, there is no end to McCain wanting to shed American blood and treasure to achieve his political ends.

Dear Senator McCain: Thank you for your service to our country. Now, at the age of 80, you have earned a calm and peaceful retirement...

Force McCain’s retirement? What a joke! Look what they did to keep Thad Cochran in the Senate. He’s so old he farts dust. Cochran is now a drooling imbecile that the roll out only when he is needed to put his wrinkled finger on the voting button and have it pushed the way McConnell instructs his nurse aids.

At least McCain can still utter is inanities in complete sentences.

Note there seems some distance between Linda G and mcinsane? Not an accident. Linda may agree with him on trump’s missteps but has met with him on issues re security.

I appreciate your point but the psychological trajectory he is on will eventually manifest itself is increasingly bizarre behavior. At some point people in the state will need to convince him to leave before he totally embarrasses them with his quixotic antics.

The Senate itself may decide that he is embarrassing the institution (as hard as that is to do) and encourage him to call it a day. They wouldn’t impeach a war hero, but they would find a way to tell him its time to go.
