President Trump discussed his tweeted accusation that President Obama ordered "wires" at Trump Tower tapped during last year's presidential campaign in an exclusive interview with Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight" Wednesday.
Trump told host Tucker Carlson that the administration "will be submitting things" to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence "very soon." The president added that he "will be, perhaps speaking about this next week" and predicted that "you’re going to find some very interesting items coming to the forefront over the next 2 weeks."
When asked by Carlson why he tweeted about the alleged phone tap before producing evidence, Trump said his definition of wiretapping "covers a lot of different things."
"That really covers surveillance and many other things," he said. "Nobody ever talks about the fact that [the words 'wires tapped'] was in quotes [in the tweet], but that’s a very important thing."

The committee’s weasel words:
“...surveillance by any element of the United States government either before or after Election Day 2016, ...”

2.In October the Intelligence Community (NSA) -at the direction of President Obama- made a second request to the FISA court for the NSA to spy on Donald Trump. It was approved.
3.At around the same time (October), as the second request to FISA, (Def Sec) Ash Carter and (DNI) James Clapper tell President Obama to dump NSA Director Mike Rogers.
4.A week after the election, Mike Rogers makes a trip to Trump Tower without telling his superior, James Clapper; which brings about new calls (November media leaks to WaPo) for President Obama to dump Mike Rogers.
Using a foreign power to side step US law is a far bigger deal than using in house agencies to spy on the opposition's campaign.
This is what they are all dancing around trying to avoid, turning a national scandal into an international scandal that sucks other governments into their own scandal of interfering in US elections.
This is a big stinking deal and I am sure there are people on both sides of the pond saying "Oh chit!".
The media is complicit in this and they know if flyover country figures it out, they are toast. Eventually somebody is going to spell it out for them and things are going to unravel.
I think this is why McCain is getting frantic. He is deeply implicated in the use and abuse of foreign spy agencies to undermine an election. Pretty brazen for a former presidential nominee of the same party as the nominee he sought to undermine.

If US used this tactic to get around US law, what are odds our allies used US assets to get around their own domestic law.
