White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney emerged from a meeting with House Republicans with an ultimatum. If the House-led effort to replace Obamacare fails, the United States is stuck with Obamacare, according to several Congressional reporters on Twitter. Mulvaney was joined by a group of administration officials including senior advisors Steve Bannon, Reince Priebus, and Kellyanne Conway for an evening meeting with House Republicans in an effort to break the logjam on the bill. Most House Freedom Caucus members refuse to vote for the bill without major changes. Moderate House Republicans have also protested the bill.

Yep.... there was no wiretap of Trump’s team.
ROTFLMAO. The man has a pocket full of four leafed clover and farms them at the Balmedie course.
The repubs have had six years to come up with an alternative. They haven’t because they never thought they’d have to. The GOP leaders were more surprised than Hillary that she didn’t win.
If it crashes the rats will take some heat, but the do-nothing dilly-dallying Republicans will be facing firing squads.
Speaker Ryan needs to start playing for Team Trump and not Team K Street. If this bill fails it will be because he put K Street before Main Street.
I wouldn’t bet against it... LOL
Yepper. No damned mandates. No infernal penalties. No NPR/PBS-type subsidies from the US Treasury and the cynically named `Affordable care” act will die like a rabid dog.
The key to its planned success was: “From each according to their ability, to each according to their need.” Candidate Trump wanted it repealed and replaced, not patched-up and wheeled back on stage.
Let it die a lingering, red death and remind voters next year who they have to thank for this sucking chest wound Marxist debacle/fiasco.
The Trump revolution was murdered by “conservatives”
Sorry, conservatives didn’t write this garbage bill. Amnesty Ryan and his K Street donors did. If it fails it’s on them.
Great point. Maybe after it fails he comes out and says "OK, we tried it your way, so now we should try it my way", and then have Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and the House Freedom Caucus take the lead and propose legislation that will be much closer to what Trump-voters really wanted.
If this bill fails to reach a vote, or the vote fails, it's Paul Ryan who will take the heat. Like a prime minister, it could be enough to trigger his replacement as Speaker. Wouldn't that be an interesting development?
One thing I know for sure, like I said before: President Trump, blindfolded, could beat Mr. Spock at 3D chess.
Rumors of Donald Trump's failure have been greatly exaggerated for the last 2 years straight, and I see no evidence that indicates the President will stop winning anytime soon...
I thought you duplicate posted to me, but now I see you corrected yourself, saying Republicans should pass the Rand PAUL bill from the Senate, not the Paul RYAN bill in the House.

It should be a VERY conservative bill.
How many Senate votes do we have? How many did Obama have? The difference matters.

Not to take anything away from you but it sure don’t take a genius to figure out who the Ryan bill helps, and it sure as hell aint you and I!! Funny thing is I have yet to see one member of Congress stating they are willing to put their families on this plan....??
Pain is a great motivator.
The unions feel it next.
2018 maximizes penalties.
2018 reduces number of Crony Insurance scam companies by another 40%.
Procedures, medicines, prosthetic devices, etc become liabilities and are drastically reduced as covered within plan and heck, deductibles might even go up.
Paying $600 a month for Health insurance and a $5,000 deductible?
Well, yer gonna love paying $750 and now the deductible is $10,000 or $12,500 depending on the plan you choose.
Oh! And you are wait listed because what you think is an emergency doesn’t qualify under your insurance plan.
Now you really have an out of pocket expense because the insurance company will deny coverage, you will still be paying $750 and have a $10,000 deductible....
You can use it next time but, you have to ask permission.
Make people beg for change ....
Trump has the luck of a man that says damn I am starting to run low on cash, goes and buys a powerball ticket, wins, and in a few years says damn I am starting to run low on cash, goes and buys a powerball ticket, wins, and in a few years says ...
1. A reasonably acceptable "repeal/replace" bill of some kind would be passed in the House.
2. The bill gets pulled over a lack of GOP support in a way that would make Ryan look like an ineffective, incompetent loser.
I don't know how this is going to end, but I believe Trump has already come out of this looking like a champion. If the bill fails, nobody is going to be able to blame him for it.
So, after this debacle what gopers are going to vote for axing NPR? None of the snakes that betrayed Trump today.
Who's going to back him on regulation reform now that they know they can blow it off and still get their rich graff from the goper donors?
Just because a bullet in the back is friendly fire doesn't mean it's not a bullet in the back.
Sargon, I’d like to think that’s what he’s up to, but I can’t say that I’m convinced of it. We’ll have to wait and see.
I don’t expect him to get everything right, and this may be one he winds up screwing up on. I sure hope not. It’s one of the biggest things we need to change for the better.
Get government out of health care.
I don’t mind savings accounts.
I don’t mind government unleashing insurance companies to operate across state lines.
Other than that, let those who can afford it negotiate their own health care policies. Just get out of the way.
I know government will be involved in MediCare, and MediCaid, but I’d like to see him find ways to get the MediCaid end of it down to rock bottom if he can.
This is first part of first phase, it will go to Senate, then it will come back to Congress and after new voting it will go to President.
Bill will change completely.
After this failure, I can bet no bill will pass. Because GOP is unmanageable group.
No tax cut, immigration and wall can be on hostage.
I seem to remember on inauguration day something about this was the day that power is transferred from Washington to the people.
When the President said “the people”, I assumed he meant “We the People”. Guess he meant the insurance companies.
My bad.
