If we’re going to discuss historical support, I’d say 90% of Free Republic supported Paul Ryan when he was running for Vice President, so we are all hypocrites.
Anyone using the FC voting for him as Speaker as a means of discrediting them needs a long look in the mirror.
Let’s start with the obvious one. The removal of the individual mandate. That should be enough, but go ahead and let me know.
Bingo— in order to totally dismantle obamaumaocare— go with the nuclear option of 51% in the Senate. Get it done. The House submission has... across state lines insurance sales (100’s of companies will get into that to escape the byzantine state insurance commissioner’s power blocs), no coverage for illegals—deportation, strip out PP by Price and the rest of what Price can do, eliminate entire offices websites and employee base of the ACA staffing (stop selling it), bloc grant the medicaid to states, and do all this with a timeline that gives people time to make the switch and physicians/hospitals to re-do their business plans and get off the federal teat (toughest thing of all this one).
The Donald is correct. Dems are smiling. But not only in DC, they are smiling everywhere. I just pray to God that the FC doesn’t derail tax reform and the building of the border wall. Then the Dems would be dancing a jig.
Freedom Caucus voted 60 or so times for partial repeal bills which they knew were getting vetoed by Obama. Then during the actual negotiations, they kept claiming to be on board then changing their story later, hence the confusion on the lead up to the bill. They were not negotiating in good faith and had no interest in fixing the bill no matter how many times Trump reached out to them.
They deserve all the blame and the fact the Democrats are now going to go all-in on single payer.
The entire Republican Caucus voted to kill Obamacare, not just the FC. So when it came down to actually doing something meaningful they didn’t even propose what they voted on last year. They had their own voters that they had made promises to, and Obama lite isn’t it.
I guess Trump & Rayan have decided that they will just have to work with Schumer & Pelosi to fix Obamacare. It sure doesn’t seem like a good idea going forward.
