This bill was only 122 pages and published online, but I’d wager that 90%+ Republicans had no idea what was in it. They only know what their favorite conservative radio host or influential Twitter guy said about it.
Also, the bill was a committee vote of sorts. It would have come back from the Senate totally different. McConnell supposedly had a whole new bill that he was going to use as an amendment.
Then he should have come out with that bill first, instead of putting the House through this stupid, pointless exercise.
