A Catoctin High School student faces felony charges for what investigators called a detailed plot to carry out a mass shooting at the school. Her father tipped authorities to the alleged plot, which included a timeline, phases of the attack and a target date, as well as a gun and potential bomb-making materials.
“There is no doubt in our minds that we averted a disaster out there,” said Frederick County Sheriff Charles Jenkins, comparing the possible destruction to the deadly attacks on Columbine High and Sandy Hook Elementary.
It was Nichole Cevario’s father who alerted investigators to her plans, which, Jenkins said, were outlined in detail in her diary. Entries dating back to mid-December spell out a timeline and phases of a planned attack on Catoctin High School, in Thurmont, Maryland, set for April 5, he said.
Investigators quickly determined Cevario was acting alone and that no weapons or explosives had been on school grounds, said Maj. Tim Clarke, with the sheriff’s department.
However, Cevario had been gathering intelligence on emergency procedures at the school during drills and asking questions about the school resource deputy, asking, for example, how deputies were armed when they responded to a school emergency, Jenkins said.

No weapons? Does she have a muzz slime boyfriend? Is she a graduate of “The Finders”?
That father saved more than his daughter. Notice that the father of the Sandy Hook killer was nowhere to be found. He found it convenient to leave his demented, troubled son in the care of his mentally challenged ex wife. This father in Maryland, whatever his shortcomings, at least was present and did the right adult thing.

They reported on F&F this morning that she had bought a gun and had made pipe bombs and had other bomb making materials such as magnesium tape. I think this was more than just a fantasy. I only caught the end of the report, I didn't realize it was her father who had reported her.
Of course not. That was a bad optic.
This would be a really tough call as a parent. On the one hand, you want to think your child is a decent kid and want to excuse any talk of violence as immature fantasy. You also don’t want to ruin their life by doing something that gets them sent to jail for a long time if they really aren’t going to do it. But the other side of the coin is that if you make excuses and are in denial and she does kill other students, everyone’s life is ruined and you are left with the guilt that you could have stopped a tragedy. Once again, its a really tough call.
I'll be the first guy to admit I've yet to figure out women but I'd really be shocked if their fantasies included mass killings....

Not jumping to conclusions, but this is typical avoidance employed is things associated with liberals, Mussies, and aliens.
Writing in a journal is far different than going to the hardware store and buying galvanized pipe joints and end caps. The purchase of the fire works as a source of the explosive powder and fuses for the pipe bombs also indicates intent beyond fantasy.
Missing was the means for surreptitious ignition. There was lighter fluid and other flammables that seem extraneous. The pipe had not been drilled for fuse insertion. There was however a pair of safety glasses. Multiple devices seems to indicate they would be lit and then thrown into an assembly
Fifty shotgun shells should prove adequate for defending the fort once the operation began.

Planning and appearing to pursue this course of action would cause me to immediately turn any of my kids in.....Thet are a direct and immediate threat to herself, your friends and neighbors....
The kid needs significant physcological help beyond the capabilities of any parent before they harm themselves or others....
Denial or inaction is NOT an option!

This is Thurmont. Not aware of encroachment by Moslems there yet. Always possible, since my area is crawling with them now (hour away) and Frederick Co. is now a “bedroom” community of the vile D.C.
So nixing that slight possibility, my guess was “redneck white girl”.
However, now with “Cevario”, I’m guessing (white) Hispanic!
