2 White House Officials Helped Give Nunes Intelligence Reports (Sources Outed)
New York Times ^ | MARCH 30, 2017 | By MATTHEW ROSENBERG, MAGGIE HABERMAN and ADAM GOLDMAN

WASHINGTON — A pair of White House officials helped provide Representative Devin Nunes of California, a Republican and the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, with the intelligence reports that showed that President Trump and his associates were incidentally swept up in foreign surveillance by American spy agencies.

The revelation on Thursday that White House officials disclosed the reports, which Mr. Nunes then discussed with Mr. Trump, is likely to fuel criticism that the intelligence chairman has been too eager to do the bidding of the Trump administration while his committee is supposed to be conducting an independent investigation of Russia’s meddling in the presidential election.

It is the latest twist of a bizarre Washington drama that began after dark on March 21, when Mr. Nunes got a call from a person he has described only as a source. The call came as he was riding across town in an Uber car, and he quickly diverted to the White House. The next day, Mr. Nunes gave a hastily arranged news conference before going to brief Mr. Trump on what he had learned the night before from — as it turns out — White House officials ...

That does not appear to be the case. Several current American officials identified the White House officials as Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior director for intelligence at the National Security Council, and Michael Ellis, a lawyer who works on national security issues at the White House Counsel’s Office and was previously counsel to Mr. Nunes’s committee. Though neither has been accused of breaking any laws, they do appear to have sought to use intelligence to advance the political goals of the Trump administration.

Yeah, I’m not even sure if this story is true. It could be, but it could also be BS that was used to catch Walsh leaking to Haberman.

More NYT’s leftist diversionary writing. If the White House had information about any legal or illegal wiretapping/surveillance of Trump, his staff, election/campaign staff, transition staff, etc., then they had every right to turn it over to Nunez who has the necessary high-level security clearance to know and see it.

And he has every right to ask people in the White House about it so that he can bring it up at a hearing which the Democrats don’t want if it exposes them, illegal leakers in the Intelligence Community, and collusion between the Dems and the news media.

Adam Schiff should never have been given any type of security clearance beyond “Dog House cleaner on an “as needed” basis”. This man is sick and a danger to our country.

So what if they did? Some people ran across some intelligence reports somewhere in the White House and thought the House Intelligence committee should know about it. Some how that is a crime in the eyes of the NYT. I don’t think so. Proceed Mr. Nunes.

Now this is just my own fertile little mind, but it could be the WH was going to turn this over to the committee and some brilliant Trumpster said Wait, let’s use this to find the leaker. We are going to turn it over anyway.......

Though neither has been accused of breaking any laws, they do appear to have sought to use intelligence to advance the political goals of the Trump administration.

As opposed to the MSM and Democrats who, apparently without breaking any laws, have made unsubstantiated claims to advance their anti-Trump political goals.

But wait

Isn’t the story that Trump was spied on?
Not who told the investigator?
It seems a lot of idiots were flaming Trump, saying he needed to provide proof of his charges or “apologize “
Now the story is that when the proof was provided it tainted the investigator?

Pure projection on the part of the NYSlimes. It is exactly what the Democrats always do.

Let me suggest that Nunes didn’t go to Schiff first because Schiff is a Dem and would likely LEAK THE INTELLIGENCE.

Not only did these guys not break any laws ... they notified Nunes in response to his March 15th letter requesting information from all of these intelligence agencies.

“Let me suggest that Nunes didn’t go to Schiff first because Schiff is a Dem and would likely LEAK THE INTELLIGENCE.”

I think Nunes feared that the Dems would bury the info so it would never see the light of day.

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but I am under the impression that the unmasking and verification of the Trump surveillance was contained in one of Obama’s Presidential Daily Briefings, which would only be accessible from the WH.

The awesome thing about the election and how the #FakeStreamMedia outed themselves is that we no longer have to parse the "artful phrasing" of Haggs Maberman and her DNC Media ilk.

0bama spied on President Trump, Haggie, you lying female DNC dog.

Exactly. The Dems and the media are focused exclusively on how Nunes obtained the information rather than the substance thereof. As Trey Gowdy said yesterday, “I don’t care if the information came from the White House or the Waffle House as long as it’s the truth.”
