Fake news.

“After 7 years of talking about it, when it came time to lead, the congress screwed the canadian pooch, again...stalled Trump’s momentum”

Paraphrasing...;)

I would say he came down in the middle.

You lost me at " long legislative process to reform our health care system " and I stopped reading. That's not how the "repeal" part of "repeal and replace" was offered up. Even Ryan in his own words said we could get a genuine repeal with a simple majority in the Senate if We the People provided a republican POTUS. We held up our end of the bargain ...

Besides that, I wonder how much easier it would be for them if there were people on supposedly “conservative” forums with names like “conservative98” who actually STOOD FOR CONSERVATISM!!!!

Yes, because you see, so-called "conservative98", anyone who disagrees with what the HFC did is clearly not a conservative.

So say the self-appointed arbiters of "true conservatism" here on FR...

Trump has done some good things, which I support.

He has advocated for some bad things, which I hope will fail.

Overall, he is still far better than Hillary, but that does not entitle him to support when he is in error.

I think what angers and frustrates me the most is the republicans giving credibility to, and participating in, the Russian dog and pony show and buying into the whole Russia influenced the election BS. It’s all so surreal. It’s like we’re in charge now but we’re really not. He can’t even get off the ground with this 24/7 crap

Exactly. I think many conservatives would be happy to give Boehner another try if it mean Paul Ryan was out...

IMO, this is as far as Conservatism can go. We can’t simply refuse health care to 40 million people.

Is health care a right guaranteed by the Constitution?

“the more I learned about the divisive and secretive process by which Paul Ryan & the Establishment leadership has put this thing together, the less I want it to become law.”

That’s true. Every time I hear about Ryan’s shenanigans, I hear Pelosi saying we have to “pass it before we can know what’s in it”. How is Ryan any better/different?

Exactly. HFC is like Hillary. No accomplishments. So they helped replace Boehner with Paul Ryan and stopped Ryancare which wasn’t going to pass anyway. Like I said no accomplishments. Just like Hillary Clinton. smh. Don’t believe the hype.

No need to deal. Just repeal!

THE SIMPLE PLAN

Repeal just the Individual Mandate. That is all that is required.

Then the Democrat & Rino Obamacare turd can compete with the rest.

Let Obamacare compete.

Do you have any idea what 40 million untreated people would cause in this nation? We would have disease and major medical problems in every neighborhood.

The treatment for the 40 million is as much defensive in nature as anything else.

I laid out a plan to reduce that figure over time, and that’s where our emphasis should be.

I don’t think the GOP wants to work together to get things done. One side is against the other and therefore, nothing gets done. Must be frustrating for Trump.

Things would be no worse than they were on the day Obamacare took effect.

I drive through a couple of pretty tough neighborhoods on my way to work. And during the weeks and months pre-Obamacare, there were no mounds of corpses blocking my path.

I don't see any problem with repealing it.

I would say he’s on a steep learning curve

Backwards reference to The Learning Curve - if it is steep that means great progress in a short time. If there is little progress over time it is a shallow learning curve.

It is not "steep" as in a hill that is hard to cross.

Well no, but it's guaranteed to those folk lucky enough to hit 65 years old, and veterans, the poor via Medicaid and illegals. You get the picture. So all this talk about returning health care to the free markets is hot air since it hasn't been a product of a free market for decades.

Medicaid has been around since the 70s.
