At this point, I think all those stories about this vile little monster and the special treatment he got at the Hanoi Hilton, and the story about him injuring his own arms when he crashed, and the story about other servicemen being incinerated because of him on the Forrestal, and each and every nasty rumor about him has a strong basis in fact.
