Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman (Yisrael Beiteinu) addressed the recent chemical weapons massacre in Syria’s Idlib province, denouncing the idleness of the international community in response to the Syrian crisis.

Speaking to Yedioth Ahronoth, Lieberman said that “the two murderous chemical weapons attacks on civilians in the Idlib region in Syria and on the local hospital were carried out by direct and premeditated order of Syrian President Bashar Assad, with Syrian planes. I say this with 100 percent certainty.”

If true, what is Assad and his cronies thinking? They have their enemies on the ropes and decide to use gas on civilians.

there is something out there about an attack on Assad somewhere..maybe his residence.. and this is him ferreting out the perps.

I don’t know what is true but I could see McInsane and his rebels being behind it. Kind of like people thinking Turkey was behind the attack on themselves in order to justify the mass roundup/firing/etc.

. Rebels kill their own and then blame Assad.

A US official said an American review of radar and other assessments showed Syrian aircraft flying in the area at the time of the attack. Russian and coalition aircraft were not there at that time, said the official, who wasn’t authorized to discuss intelligence publicly and requested anonymity. Washington hasn’t yet concluded what type of chemical was used.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump split the blame between Syria’s embattled leader and former President Barack Obama for the country’s worst chemical weapons attack in years.

While calling the attack “reprehensible” and intolerable, Trump said Obama “did nothing” after Assad crossed the former US leader’s “red line” in 2013.

“These heinous actions by the Bashar al-Assad regime are a consequence of the past administration’s weakness and irresolution,” Trump said.

The US has ISIS on the ropes with the Kurds and Arabs in the FSA. Assad has only fought ISIS as a last resort. His only efforts are to stay in power. putin is only helping with that too.

I don’t know who to believe. All the parties involved are known liars with a lust for power. Assad, The UN, The Fake News Media.

I agree. That region is not worth one drop of American blood. Not for Saudi, Israeli, military industrial complex, natural gas line interests, etc.

Assad is a tyrant, he’s NOT a nice guy, He got away with it under Obama, there is no reason to think he would not test the new administration to see if he could get away with it again.

This is the reality is Syria, Assad is NOT a nice guy, there were legitimate rebels fighting him to overthrow him.. unfortunately jihadists moved in and now there is little to no way to know who is a legitimate rebel and who is just an islamic fundamentalist trying to sow chaos and create a state for them.

Both of these sides are EVIL... However, the insanely naive argument that when something bad happens, and it looks like Assad did it, to knee jerk that its a Rebel/ISIS false flag is IDIOTIC. What is more likely? Rebel factions are manufacturing complex nerve agents in bombed out strongholds and they accidentally were set off by russian or Assad conventional bombs? Please, if you believe this, you are as naive as the Hillary will win in a landslide folks were.... Or that a regime that has had no qualms using chemical weapons in the past, and for the most part got away with it, has decided to test the new administration to see if they are as big of pussies as the last administration?

Assad knows damned well this war is a proxy between the US and Russia, and will the US risk war with Russia over him gassing a few hundred kids? Russia has painted itself into a corner being all in with him, will the break ties and let him sink? He’s a tyrant doing what tyrants do folks.... They will do what they think they can get away with, period.

I think when you see CNN pushing kids on TV to read a statement supporting a war, you have your answer. The rebels in Syria lost the moment the Russians arrived. Everything since has been Saudi tears.

If the Syrian aircraft bombed an ISIS chemical depot, wouldn’t ISIS try their best to blame/accuse Assad of a chemical attack?!? DUH!!!

And Sec. Lurch assured us a few years ago that the Obama administration had rid Syria of chemical weapons, so....

The photo at the link shows grieving family members handling the dead bodies without any protective gear.

It all seems quite suspicious to me as well, and the timing is a little too convenient. Hospitals should be neutral territory, so would probably be a good place to hide some chemical weapons. Some of the photos look like they could be staged as well.

Or maybe as naive as a poster who after seeing pictures of family and first responders handling the bodies of the dead children without wearing protective gear states that the children were killed by "complex nerve agents." Please, if you are going to present a slanted, one sided argument could you at least try to make it believable?

right after Trump comes out on his side? Makes no sense. If he has Russia and USA backing him then he’s won. If he is behind this he deserves to be put down like a rabid dog.

The idea behind not making "regime change" in Syria a priority for the US was not predicated on the notion of Assad being a nice guy. Everyone knew that he was ruthless and brutal.

Focusing on defeating ISIS while leaving who runs Syria alone was predicated on the (correct) notion that no matter how brutal Assad may be, he never was and is not a threat to the United States or any western power. Assad does not sponsor or support terror attacks against Americans or Europeans. Al Nusra and ISIS do.

The recent gas attack changes nothing as far as these points are concerned.
