Republican lawmakers in Delaware walked out of a legislative session Wednesday during a prayer reading from the Quran, with one returning later to call the reading from the Muslim holy book "despicable."
The News Journal reports state Sens. Dave Lawson and Colin Bonini exited the Senate chambers in Dover when Tarek Ewis, imam of the Masjid Isa Ibn-e-Maryam mosque in Newark, and Naveed Baqir, executive director of the Delaware Council on Global and Muslim Affairs, gave the day's invocation per an invitation.
Lawson returned after the prayer had finished. An Air Force veteran who served a tour in Vietnam, he condemned the decision to invite the two representatives of the Muslim community. Per The News Journal:
"We just heard from the Quran, which calls for our very demise," Lawson said after a Muslim duo gave the invocation, including a passage from their holy text. "I fought for this country, not to be damned by someone that comes in here and prays to their God for our demise. I think that's despicable."

Hip, hip, hooray!
Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Good for them!
Sen. Lawson is completely correct in his comments about Islam.
14 centuries of experience bear this out.
This action took courage, as the majorities of both houses in the Delaware legislature and the governor are Democrats.
I live in southern Delaware, where most of the representatives are Republican.
Our statewide elections are usually 40% GOP—60% Democrat, because of the large Dem population up north.
As for freedom of religion, Islam is NOT a religion.
Probably the last two Republicans in Deleware. Xao Bi Den probably wasn’t pleased.
Amen FRiend!
FDR’s first vice president (’33-’37) I Forget the name. And in the original version it wasn’t “spit”, but another bodily fluid... The press changed it to “spit”.

Whoever invited the Muslim should be hung from a tree.
wow. Democrats are all-in for the poor, persecuted Muslims. Democrats are the Kapos of the United States.
John Nance Garner.
Freedom of religion implies that the other religions also believe in freedom of religion.
muslim Nazis only believe in their freedom to murder other religions.
(what goes around...)
Thank you.

We can end this once and for all by not calling Mohammedanism a religion. IT IS NOT. It is a cult of hate, started by a camel humping pedophile to justify raping and killing.
It can’t be called a religion when it consists of pieces stolen from other religions. Dietary laws from the Jews. Monotheism from Jews and Christians. Prophets of the Old Testament are revered; as is Jesus and Mary in the New Testament. Even the trip to Mecca is taken from the Jewish trek to the Temple.
WOW, great.
Yep. That’s exactly what I’d do.
Dave Lawson is the Senator for my district and I’m one of many who have contacted him to approve of his move. Only shame is that the rest of the Republicans didn’t join him.
Of course, the Democrats who set this Muslim guy up to appear are shocked, shocked , I say, that anyone would feel that way about giving the enemy face time in their Senate.
You’re right - I thought of TX when I saw your reply and he was. Thanks.

Coming to a gathering near you any day now.
“Any reading from that crap book should be done in the outhouse.”
Not a bad idea, actually. If more idiot liberals, mushy moderates and lazy tolerant types did read the koran in the “outhouse”, there’d be less islamophilia. You gotta read the book to know what’s in the book and what’s in the book is darn scary. I have been giving away copies of the abridged Koran edited by Bill Warner to any of my friends and acquaintances that I think will read it and telling them to pass it on when they are done with it.
Thanks, lowbridge! I know both of these senators and I am sending them the link to this article and all the comments.
Thank you all for the support for these senators!
