Trumps tomahawk missile strike in Syria has most commentators agreeing that its an international game changer, sending a message to bad actors from the Middle East to North Korea: theres a new sheriff in town and the American superpower is back. What is missing from these analyses is a recognition of the strikes repercussions domestically. For the Syrian strike is also a game changer for President Trump, who until now has been the target of unprecedented and unhinged political attacks.
The Syrian strike blows up the central myth of the Democrats resistance to the Trump presidency. This is the accusation that Americas new commander-in-chief is a pawn in Putins pocket, a closet colluder with the Russian beast. The accusation always had a lunatic ring but since it was based on speculation about what Trump might do, it was difficult to definitively refute. Not anymore. The strike in Syria has blown it as sky high as the debris from the Syrian aircraft the tomahawks destroyed. Henceforth, Trumps critics are more likely to warn of an imminent war with Russia than an imminent capitulation to Putins whims.

North Korea is no threat to America. Not the slightest
Good to hear from David. I think all his associates are bad mouthing President Trump right now.
Fine with me whatever Horowitz says, I'll see if he's right when they start to fade away.
He always said that he was going to be the President for everyone, just as he said that he would repeal & replace Obamacare. You are not going to get everything your way.
Until that time if they're near to marrying a nuclear warhead to those missiles I think they're a threat to a great many US military and civilian personnel at those bases as well as to Japan and South Korea.
Unless and until we tell those two countries to worry about the problem themselves and pull out of those countries and others in the area I don't understand why they're not a threat.
So, we disagree.
False dilemma and a typical neocon lie.
“Yes I am still thankful the evil Hillary lost but now skeptical that Trump represents substantial reform.”
I disagree regarding “reform”. President Trump got us out of the TPP nonsense. His administration is dismantling the EPA’s regs on almost a weekly basis. He’s signed into law the overturning of numerous Obama rules & such that Congress has sent him. He’s sent a poignant message to the world that the era of weakness is over. He nominated a solid justice who’s been confirmed & is now on the Supreme Court.
All that & more despite all the obstacles the RATs & the rest of the Swamp have continuously placed in his way in less than 100 days. From where I sit President Trump is doing a great job for a man who’s never been a politician.
I think the never Trumpers and not his base.
Everyone in that part of the world who claims they're our ally or who comes to our aid at the outset of something is always, without fail, playing a double game that subverts our goals and furthers theirs.

“That’s why I worry about him getting entangled the exact same way Bush did, by getting tied up in the ME.”
It’s a valid concern though I don’t share it. I trust President Trump to do what he believes is in the best interest of America & not the elites. There may be times when what’s best for America intersects with what the elites want though I expect those instances to be few & far between.

Some days Arthur kicks my butt, other days Ritis.
I thought I’d read that the Russian frigate was on a schedule trip, and didn’t represent a response to the Syrian bombings.
“Oops, there’s actually no “m” in occasions.”
LOL! No worries here. I am not now nor will I ever be a member of the spelling police.
Hope you have a great day. Peace :)
Typical putinista-loving balderdash from toy truck.
yeah - how da’ f’ did Kim put his country so close to our military bases ?
outrageous
:) :)
yes - but after Syria I’m more skeptical than I was last week.
let pray he keeps on course to drain the swamp
That's clearly not what this is, despite your abject hysteria...
How about when normal people say it?
You're hysterical...
