Despite speculations to the contrary, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Some observers claimed this wouldn’t happen due to the tension between the two nations.
“Russian President Vladimir Putin is meeting US Secretary of State Tillerson and Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov at the Kremlin,” presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday evening.
Peskov did not elaborate on what the three discussed. Earlier in the day, Tillerson held a meeting with Sergey Lavrov.

Russia was crippled in the last decade, they remain so.
The last thing KGB Vlad wants is a unified opposition. So he will retreat a bit now and look for cracks to be exploited. We’ve seen this movie before. Putin is simply running the old KGB playbook. There is no brilliance here despite what worshiping Putinists might think.

Trump and Tillerson “respect” Putin and Lavrov as leaders of Russia...and rightfully so even if they disagree they are on level ground when speaking to one another and Putin knows this very well....it was never so with Obama nor could it be so.....Putin disliked the man from the get go , Obama was and remained a JV player throughout his administration.
Most of all, they don't care what Russia does with gay people, like the previous administration did.
Tillerson is a class act in every way......all about the work and business at hand and would prefer no limelight. He wants results not glory.
It’s so interesting watching the videos of him with the Russians....smooth as silk I tell ya....makes me so Proud....he’s an eye to eye man.

Listening to and watching Tillerson operate after years of the insufferable gas bag John Kerry is almost a miracle itself.

Well if you think this is rolling out like the KGB playbook then you might consider coming into the current century in that regard...and this isn’t a movie...it’s the realities of this century under our new President.. and this with a whole new approach. Putin knows this as well.
