If you’re talking about the group-hugging bonobos, that is not intimate contact with multiple partners.

Yes, individuals of any complex species can get away with promiscuity for a time, but each intimate contact with someone who is having sex with multiple partners is a game of chance.

Not the bonobos. Regular chimps. Pan troglodytes. While a male will try to keep a female in estrus to himself, there are matings with multiple males as well.

And bonobos do more than group hugs.
