ISLAMABAD —
Afghan officials say the number of militants known to have been killed by a huge U.S. bomb Thursday has nearly tripled.
Officials say at least 92 militants died in the blast - up from 36 reported Friday. The area is still being cleared, so the death toll may increase.
There is no indication any civilians or military personnel were among the dead.
President Ashraf Ghani said Afghan and U.S. forces closely coordinated on the bombing, however his predecessor has strongly denounced the strike and the United States.
Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Saturday he is unleashing a campaign to force U.S. forces out of his country for dropping the so-called “mother of all bombs” on Afghan soil, calling it a "barbaric" act that was more aimed at testing "a new weapon of mass destruction" than targeting Islamic State fighters.

That’s exactly how I thought Afghanistan shoulda been handled from the very beginningng of our sordid involvement.

They would have used if they saw that the caves were full of soldiers and a very ripe target.
meaning the death toll is likely to rise to around 1000.

I have a feeling the assesment of the dead is being done by Afghan and US forces.

They probably weren’t killed by the blast. Instead, they have been sealed in and will suffer a slow suffocating death in the dark. Good times. ;-)
Interesting that Karzai publically expresses his ire. It makes one wonder if he isn't complicit in those shenanigans. And, by extension, secretive fighters on Obama's payroll.

90? Well, only a few hundred thousand more just like this and we’ll have real progress. The problem isn’t ISIS or Al Queda, it’s Islam and the threat is here in our country now. Until Islam is banned in western countries, terrorism will continue.
Karzai has always been crooked so some of his buddies were probably killed. He siphoned off $ millions from our Aid packages. As far as Obama goes, he should RETURN to Hell where he belongs.
So what. The message that has been sent is powerful. Beheadings and chemical weapons are not acceptable behaviors anymore.
