Make sure you buy one for the actual vehicle you have. Many years ago 1965 to be exact my brother borrowed our car and lost the cap. He then bought one to replace it but it was not the right one and it ended up collapsing our gas tank.

Try finding someone that runs a body shop. Ask them to look for a gas cap for you at these junk yards. They will find one for you that actually goes on your make and year car. They really know their junk yards...you'd be surprised.

My son received a Grand AM for his graduation gift from my brother-in-law. It had gone under a semi and everything was found at the junk yard. It looked beautiful when he gave it to my son. He actually found a beautiful hood to replace the wrecked one.
