The Nimitz is at least 2 weeks away at normal speeds.

Speeds that are limited by her surface battlegroup. I love those nuclear powered warships. Gotta do a flank speed run to the other side of the world? Check the coffee and toilet paper stocks and ring it up on the EOT!

"The Nimitz is at least 2 weeks away at normal speeds."

At 30 knots, San Diego to Busan is a bit more than 7 days. Off the coast of NK would be less.

And of course, the Reagan could be there in far less time.

This is it my friends. You do not engage in this kind of activity without the full intention to settle this once and for all. Now the only question is how many South Koreans will bite the dust. China and Russia know better than to get involved. They might already be involved in supporting Trump.

Fat kid failed to realize pre-Trump era bed wetting lying leftist politicians are no longer calling the shots.

Fat kid became emboldened by Clinton, Bush and Obama, mistakenly thinking he was invincible. Much like what happened to our borders, respect and rule of law.

Fat kid is going to pay a big price.

Yep, you don't move that type of assets (and that many) without using them. Something BIG is going on. I'd say that if China lands airborne troops, executes little fat boy, and turns over the nuclear program to AEA...Trump MIGHT back off...maybe throw in taking down the DMZ and demilitarizing.......S Korea market would tank for a dozen years as they assimilated a bunch of malnourished, radical, retards. Might be cheaper just to kill most of them in a war.

The escorts cannot sustain 30knots and arrive with an intact crew and weapons systems.

Transit speeds are USUALLY 16 knots.

Operating speeds can kick up to 30, but it’s rare. These are complex machines and there’s no reason to unduly stress them.

Besides there plenty of USAF firepower in theater.

The speed of the ship is classified. The Navy admits that its top speed exceeds 30 knots. They don’t say how much faster than 30 knots.

I’m not sure, but I don’t recall three carrier battle groups in station at the same time even during Viet Nam. It’s a pretty big deal. Each of these BGs is far more lethal than they were then.
