Maybe they're alarmed by how much their sea levels have risen from burning all that coal since their industrial revolution.

Sea level rise has averaged six one hundredth of an inch per year since 1880. By cherry picking the data enviro-whackos make claims that we have had a recent acceleration in the rate of rise since there has been a cyclic nature to the data.

In the last few years the level of the Atlantic seaboard has actually been falling. So Obama was actually right about something... shortly after he said that Sea levels would start declining... they actually did on the Atlantic Ocean. Of course there is no evidence that this had anything to do with him, or the amount of CO2 coming from furnaces, automobiles, or power plants.

What does a falling seaboard have to do with sea level?

If your beach front property is sinking, it doesn't mean the sea level is rising. AND if the sea is getting to your front door as a result of sinking, the sea level is NOT receding OR rising.

That may be true, but not in the UK, where sea level has risen almost up to the clock on Big Ben ... you can see why they are paniced?
