Trailer movement seen at N. Korea's nuke test site: satellite photo

SEOUL, April 22 (Yonhap) -- Some movement of what appear to be trailers have been detected at North Korea's nuclear test site in its northeastern mountainous area, a U.S. research monitoring website said Saturday.

Commercial satellite imagery taken on April 19 showed signs of a few mining carts along the tracks leading to the spoil pile and a small equipment trailer near the North Portal, the tunnel that Pyongyang has apparently been preparing for a nuclear test in the Punggye-ri region, according to the 38 North website.

The analysts from the monitoring site said a net canopy, which is presumed to have been placed to conceal the equipment, remains intact, while the pumping of water out of the tunnel, which is necessary to keep the environmental surroundings at an optimal level for carrying out a test, seems to have stopped.

The website commented that while it's not clear whether the noted activity is "a tactical pause" before another nuclear test, the imagery continues to indicate the test site "appears able to conduct a sixth nuclear test at any time once the order is received from Pyongyang."

Referring to its latest satellite image taken on April 16, which captured some North Korean workers playing volleyball at the site, it said while no such games were observed this time, the outline of the court in the courtyard was still visible.

It also mentioned that there were signs of several unidentified objects and activities in the area, although there was not enough resolution in the images to determine what they were.

"Some may be supplies or equipment with tarps or netting draped over them," it said.

No significant activity was detected at the West Portal and South Portal, or at the Command Center Area, it added.

A low-yield tactical nuke would end the problem in an instant.

That bomb used in Afghanistan. How many Nork bases? They have 70 submarines, hopefully followed. You do not assemble this big armada just to turn backline Clinton often did.

Of course our real military satellite imagery is able to read the score on the volleyball scoresheet

Do you really believe that we would initiate a pre-emptive nuclear strike? If, however, they launched a nuke first, circumstances would change the matrix.

Regardless, another MOAB might be in order since they have been warned.

Seventy subs? I doubt it. We know where they are and they will be on the ocean bottom when the time comes.

A MOAB can only be delivered by bomber aircraft and flying one deep inside NK territory is out of the question. It will have to be by missile.

They can’t even be delivered by bomber. It’s so big, you need a cargo plane. I believe they’ve been dropped from C-130’s so far. Could a C-17 do the job?

I’m sure a C17 could carry it, they are larger and have more lift capacity than the C130. However, as my ex paratrooper buddy said, they are he’ll to jump out of. The -17 has to have more airspeed durring a drop. So the question is, is the MOAB stable dropping out at that speed, and can the first chute take the strain.

Russian tanks were recently seen being shipped by train to their border with North Korea, which is not far from the NORK bomb test site.It is believed that the Russian intent is to support NK if the US invaded or bombed NK. I suspect Mad Dog is thinking twice about bombing NK. Selecting a bomb test site close to the Russian border was a sneaky and smart move.

How about a 747 Large Cargo Freighter, painted up nicely in United Airlines trim?

The idea of tangline with UAL should strike fear into Fatboi!

Really? I guess no one told the Air Force when they flew B2 stealth bombers over Iraq during Desert Storm. The B2 has a stealth aspect like no other aircraft and can strike targets other planes simply cannot.during the Gulf War.

Cool! A MOAB on NK real estate might rattle a few turrets on the Russian tanks. 😁

We’ve lived with these lunatics for 65 years. They stole the Pueblo & tortured our sailors! We had adult military vets in command back then. No war.

Do you really want to start something with them now?
