Yes but the average GOP’er is abysmal at working the PR.
For one thing back in the Clinton, Bush & Zero days they routinely refused to acknowledge that the media was also the “enemy”! They thought that could “work with them!”.
Trump acknowledges what they are and goes around them.
Of course its easier with things like Twitter but it could have been done then with a little creative thinking & a will do it.

And have you noticed when an R is speaking the truth the dim interrupts and talks over them, a dim tactic.
But if an R interrupts a dim, they say how rude, it’s my turn to talk.
