To correct my spelling (didn't have this one down so was guessing) and further back up Ruy Dias de Bivar's good comment:

Bar Kokhba revolt

[Fought circa 132–136 CE]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bar_Kokhba_revolt

[In an attempt to erase any memory of Judea or Ancient Israel, Emperor Hadrian wiped the name off the map and replaced it with Syria Palaestina.]

The proximate reasons seem to centre around the proscription of circumcision, the construction of a new city, Aelia Capitolina, over the ruins of Jerusalem, and the erection of a temple to Jupiter on the Temple Mount.

(and as I mentioned, quoting Dave Hunt, the Romans had erected a temple to the pagan "god" of Jupiter)

” . . .and the erection of a temple to Jupiter on the Temple Mount.”

There is also another temple to Jupiter by the same architect in Baalbek Lebanon, very similar design,

From it we can understand the Dome of the Rock in Jersulem is built on the direct foundations from it.
