When I lived in the vicinity and worked in NOLA, seldom were there any issues between the races. Lots of years there between ‘68 to ‘87 so yeah, I saw a lot of changes over those years.

I live in Metairie and our church is full of black church goers. We love each other and they love our church. Of course there are pockets of generational poverty that are problematic but that is because New Orleans has not addressed that issue. The city council should all be fired along with the mayor. Our church brought property in one of the poverty areas and we are starting a community center and eventually a trade school and all sorts of out reach programs to help them better themselves. We are doing it - not the City. Like I said we are a melting pot community. But the left hates when people get along. It doesn’t follow the Marxist agenda.
