The North fought to preserve the Union and won.

The North fought because Abraham Lincoln ordered them to fight. Lincoln ordered them to fight because an independent South represented a huge financial threat to his government and the financial interests of his New England/New York backers.

The money tells the truth. You can keep repeating your claims of some great moral crusade, but the real and demonstrable truth is MONEY. Greed was the cause of that war.

The North didn't go to war to free the slaves Lampster. The South sure went to war to keep though. And they lost. The Confederacy were a bunch of Democrat losers. Only a moral idiot like you would go on carrying a torch for a bunch of f***ing treasonous morons who started a war they couldn't hope to win. Jeff Davis is one of the main reasons the South was doomed. In short the man was as dumb as you. Davis and Lee could have ended the war after the Souths drubbing at Gettysburg but they continued the slaughter for another two years. Lincoln would have been well within his right to hang the two of the sons of bitches but in the interest of ‘’binding up the nations wounds’’ and political expediency he choose not to.
