President Donald Trumps request that Congress include $1.4 billion to fund the beginning of his proposed wall on the U.S.-Mexico border equals approximately 0.035 percent of what the federal government will spend in total this year, according to the latest estimate of fiscal year 2017 federal spending made by the Congressional Budget Office.
It also equals less than the Department of Health and Human Services spends in just twelve hours and less than the Treasury collects in taxes in four hours.
That is assuming that HHS spends money 24 hours a day and the Treasury collects it 24 hours a day.
In its baseline budget projections published in January, the CBO estimated that in fiscal 2017, which runs through September, the federal government will collect $3,404,000,000,000 in taxes and spend $3,963,000,000,000.
On March 16, President Trump sent a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan requesting certain items be included in the continuing resolution that Congress must pass to fund the government for the remainder of the fiscal year after the current CR expires on April 28.
This letter requested approximately $1.4 billion for Trumps border wall project.
An OMB summary of the presidents requestwhich was attached to his letter to Speaker Ryan--asked that the CR include: 1.4 billion for CBP [Customs and Border Protection] Procurement, Construction and Improvements, including $999 million for planning, design, and construction of the first installment of the border wall, $179 million for access roads, gates, and other tactical infrastructure projects, and $200 million for border security technology deployments.
The OMB summary also calls for $18 million for project management, oversight and support for the border wall.
The $1.4 billion Trump wants from Congress in this fiscal year to begin the border wall project equals 0.035 percent of the $3.963 trillion...

In 2013, Paul Ryan cut the pensions of disabled military veterans who lost limbs, but fully funded illegal EITC payments for Illegal Invaders.
If that did not convince anyone that he is a traitor, then nothing will.
During the Obama administration there was no willingness to secure the border or enforce immigration laws. The Left has embraced the Marxist tenet of one world/no borders, free migrations, and full “human rights” including the right to vote for anyone in any location. A wall will be useless unless there is a willingness to actually secure a border. Trump has already markedly decreased illegal migration simply by allowing the border patrol to effectively do its job and altering State department practices in foreign embassies and consulates. Elections matter.
I hope Trump knows congress is never going to fund the war. He is going to have to find another way.
Not only that, the wall will take two or three years to build.
At three years, that breaks it down to roughly 0.0116% of the yearly budgets each year.
That's 0.000116 of the budget each year.
Hey, don’t pick up my bad habits. LOL
war > wall
Ha, well getting the wall is going to be a war.
We will save the costs of the wall in medical care alone.
During the Bush administration there was no willingness to secure the border or enforce immigration laws.

It has been a 30 bipartisan policy.
The Cost of the Border Wall is a rounding error in an out of control Federal Budget. It is less than the one Year cost of EITC Fraud.
Obama’s Stimulus Spending (payoff to Unions) was a Trillion Dollars and it did nothing but add to the Baseline Budget until the end of time.
It’s been an establishment policy.
Yeah, that was supposed to read it has been a 30 year bipartisan policy.
Patriots are reminded that Trump had clarified before he was elected in 2016 that Congress would front-end funding for Trumps wall, Mexico ultimately paying for the wall. This is evidenced by the following thread started by SeekAndFind.

Ryan and his corn holing GOPe butt buddies are poking us in the eye. Make no mistake about it.
Pocket change; in fact, it can be a $ reprogramming action without having to appropriate new $, but that would still require congressional authorization.
Proof the establishment does not want the wall and comes up with a lame excuse.
Congress (Ryan) also knows the process must start all over again with contractors who have submitted proposals. Yet another delay tactic.
Redirect all those fraudulent refunds to illegal aliens to the wall and it’s paid for.
What war?
Cave on the border wall and put everything else you want, give them nothing else. Since they’ve been running around screaming “border wall” now that it’s not in they will have a hard time drumming up anger over something else in time. Congress is seriously a hindrance to the country at large
