I notice that CNN uses a website “Bleacher Report” for their sports reporting. They just sub-contracted the whole shooting match. ESPN could have been that service if they weren’t a wholly-owned subsidiary of a single broadcast network.

The market forces finally drove these ESPN fascists out of the joint, soft cushions and microphones to boot. They were so bad they affected race relations.

Could you be more specific as which “nowadays” you’re referring to in your comment on female sideline reporters? They’ve been there since at least the 70s and for the reason already stated by a female FReeper previously. You can dislike it all you wish but it’s been reality for about 40 years.

That info on Greenberg has been bouncing around since last fall along with rumors ESPN was taking the show to a brand-new NYC studio built just for the show. None of it has come true, they got a new studio in Bristol instead. The show as currently presented is a serious cash cow and audience high-point for the network so messing with that just seems to be cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Nice to watch sporting events with the sound turned off.

No, they didn't.

CNN is owned by Turner, which is owned by Time Warner, which will probably soon be owned by AT&T (haven't heard much about the status of that merger in a couple of months).

On the other hand, Bleacher Report is owned by Turner, which is owned by Time Warner, which probably will soon be owned by AT&T.

So it's all one big, incestuous, happy family. (Don't forget HBO in that mix).

She should have spent less on the silicone and more on the face.

Does MTV even have music videos anymore?

All the videos are on MTV Classic.

Anyway, ESPN's revenue problems are because people are cutting the cable TV cord in favor of streaming services like Hulu and Netflix.

I'm sure those running don't think the far-left views and one-sided debates have nothing to do with it because of that. But, that has turned off viewers and resulted in fewer viewers.

The shame of it is they hire them, and then you never see the reporterettes. No value add, not even boobs. Boobs would be enough.

Also, bring back the cheerleaders. Haven’t seen a Raiderette or a Dallas Cowgirl during a game in a long time.

That is what they get for mixing politics with sports.

“Bleacher Report was also named one of Time magazine’s “50 Best Websites of 2011” (Wiki)

2011. That was probably the last time I looked at Bleacher Report.

ESPN was a high school compared to the college writing in Sports Illustrated and the Los Angeles Times. All three are laying off employees today.

Today young people get news from Snapchat and Instagram. Next year it will be different.

Today young people cannot afford stadium tickets or sporting goods. Major League Sports are on a death march. 11,000 people at a Cleveland Indians game last night. Wow.

WHY so many? I will NOT watch pro football, pro basketball or pro baseball. They pissed me off years ago with their antics. Screw them all.

Apparently someone is paying attention, since Colin Kaepernick(Loser) still apparently doesn’t have a contract with anyone.

To your point, I used to love watching the outdoor fishing and hunting shows on Saturday mornings on ESPN. Now some of it moved to ESPN II over time but regardless it was must see TV in my house for 20-years.

Then about 5-6 years ago someone made the decision that fishing and hunting shows wouldn’t appeal or worse yet were offending the PC coastal elites so they were all dropped.
