Sounds like winning to me.
The Sierra Club cries...
Disgusting.
Sounds like a winner to me. The states should be in control of setting aside real estate for ‘monuments’.
The closer the decision makers are to the voters, the better the government decisions will be.
It is really a very simple concept. Perhaps the Democrats are too dense to comprehend it.
Ninth circuit judge in 3,2,1!
The Clinton/Riady coal bullcrap was the first thing that popped into my head.
I received a mailing yesterday from High Mountain Institute in CO—( a grandchild is there right now)-————the mailing was about the horror show of arranging outdoor adventures to these “monuments’ due to the inefficiency of the BLM and USFS.
Bears Ears National Monument was mentioned, ( Gee,thanks Obama)which HMI used frequently and it will now be more difficult to obtain a permit.
OUR lands,but hard to use——nice,huh?

“Referring to the 1906 law that empowers a president to take unilateral action to protect cultural, historic or natural resources on federal land that is under threat, Trump declared, The Antiquities Act does not give the federal government unlimited power to lock up millions of acres of land and water, and its time that we ended this abusive practice.
I am not fully on top of this issue, but it sounds like a great idea. I think people have complained about it. Doesn’t it harm ranchers?
In any case, how far we have come from the Homestead Act.

and as for this:
“The sweeping review which Trump predicted would end these abuses and return control to the people, the people of all of the states, the people of the United States could prompt changes to areas designated not only by former president Barack Obama but also by George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.”
Yes, for lack of a better term, the “three amigos.” Not surprising at all.
maybe he can rid the country of the Bureau of Land Management BLM once sand for all.
Awesome. Clinton sure put a lot of real estate under Fed Gov control and limited access by the public.
There is something extremely warped about a law which placed in the hands of a single person the right to dispose of hundreds of millions of acres of land and the vast natural resources on and under those lands, that belong to the American people. This does violence to sacred notions of property rights, due process and steals trillions of dollars of value from its rightful owners.
I recall the first time I saw road signs in CA, warning people they must obtain a, “Forest Adventure pass” to take a walk in the forest.
Those running government are totally corrupt and out of control.
