Many were farm and border states that voted heavily for Mr. Trump.

Maybe the same senior advisors could have done a similar analysis of the impacts and benefits of the softwood lumber tariff that was just imposed on Canadian lumber. The biggest beneficiaries of this tariff will be U.S. lumber producers in Washington and Oregon ... two states which did not vote for Donald Trump in 2016.

I see keeping American's working as an apolitical issue. Only a really f upped individual like yourself would use this issue as political football. Do you think timber people are Democrats?

Not sure that's correct. Pine is a softwood, and growing pine wood is a huge industry in the South, for both pulpwood and timber.

The biggest states impacted will be all the rest where new home prices are going to go up rather dramatically because of the increased lumber costs.

Here is the question I have never seen answered: What is it that Trump actually wants out of this “renegotiation?”

Yes but they still are American States. He promised all of America not just the states that went with him. Stop thinking like a politician but think of the entire nation thats what Americans really do......

Yet it’ll help Southern Oregon big-time, which voted heavily for Trump and is as redneck, rural and conservative as they come...
