I realize there's been a few articles posted on this event now. None of them are as unintentionally hilarious as this gem from the New York Times.

Enjoy!

I bet all the local Rake and Scrape bands are very glad they didn’t get booked for this mess.

I’ve spent some very happy time in the Bahamas.

It’s a third world country with nice beaches, sweet natives and very little else. You have to understand that going in and deal with it accordingly in your expectations.

a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience

Sounds like anyone who doesn't make it a 'once in a lifetime experience' is a mighty slow learner.

So many amazing places in the U.S. to visit, why go overseas?

I've been to the Bahamas as well. Of course, it was AUTEC and loading torpedoes on helicopters. The Navy Bahamas, not the Bahamas on the vacation brochures.

Still fun though! And I had much better food than Kendall, Bella and Emily got.

I truly apologize as this is NOT MY FAULT

The word for this is fraud, and I hope you are prepared to surrender all of your wealth and future happiness to your attorney who will bankrupt you to make sure that your victims never get a penny.

Well, the places America has like this are The Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Micronesia. Hawaii is insanely expensive by my standards so I would scratch that one off.

Why go?

Well, the ocean acts as a big filter scrubbing pollen out of the air. All of the years I spent in the Philippines and on Okinawa I was free of the allergies which have plagued me the rest of my years on this terrestrial ball.

...the festival, founded by the rapper Ja Rule and the tech entrepreneur Billy McFarland

Well, there's the problem. A couple of idiots that had no idea what they were doing. I hope they get sued for a billion dollars.

Here’s an article vogue magazine posted only 3 weeks before the event.

Amazing to me that word didn’t get out... they knew it wasn’t ready at all but they still had people come. What is the mentality there. Guess someone zipped away with a bunch of cash

[founded by the rapper Ja Rule]

I know when I’m looking for a good time and a nice vacation, I always look to events founded by rappers.

If I have enough ammo to protect myself from the other rappers, that is.

Hope there were statues to Biggie Smalls and Tupac. Shrines, ya know.

[ “The festival will be fully free for everybody who wants to attend.” ]

Oh yeah, this will end well.....from horribly bad to much, much worse.

A real brain-trust these two are.

I wouldn’t let a rapper manage the corner drug store. Oh wait, that’s the one thing I would let a rapper manage.

Gorgeous empty beaches is one reason to go there, if you like that sort of thing.

I'm sure I'd like to go on a $3500-plus holiday in the Bahamas enjoying such diversions as massages, henna tattooing, sound healing, chill-out sessions and a junkaroo parade.

I bet I would be surrounded by many scores of the creme de la creme of American society enjoying themselves immensely.

Too bad I couldn't make it.

[I wouldn’t let a rapper manage the corner drug store. Oh wait, that’s the one thing I would let a rapper manage.]

Well, you’d have stolen cigars, a Quik-Trip convenience store pretty much burned to the ground and a CVS store looted and burned.

Oh wait. Sorry, that was Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland.
