Bill Shine, who has worked at Fox News for 20 years, has resigned as co-president.

An internal memo sent out by Rupert Murdoch, top executive of Fox's parent company, made the announcement on Monday.

"Sadly, Bill Shine resigned today," Murdoch's memo said. "I know Bill was respected and liked by everybody at Fox News. We will all miss him."

The conservative wheels are coming off and will be going else where. OANN is a dry run. You don’t get to be as big as oreilly and hannity and not have a backup plan. Count on it already with ink drying on paper.

Sean Hannity Warns: ‘End of Fox News Channel’ if Bill Shine is Replaced

http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2017/04/27/sean-hannity-warns-end-fox-news-channel-bill-shine-fired/

Sean Hannity took to Twitter Thursday afternoon to warn of a “total end of the Fox News Channel as we know it” in the wake of a report that suggested Fox News co-president Bill Shine lacks support from the network’s top brass.

In a post on his Twitter account Thursday, Hannnity linked to a report by New York magazine’s Gabriel Sherman that claimed Shine — a 21-year veteran at Fox News — had requested a public statement of support from network CEO James Murdoch and co-chairman Lachlan Murdoch, but failed to receive one. According to Sherman’s report, Shine privately fears for his future at the network as it has endured a series of controversies, including the recent ouster of longtime star anchor Bill O’Reilly.

It will have to do with a son’s wife’s connections and subterfuge most likely.

MURDOCH statement to Fox News employees is the most odiferous piece of excrement I can imagine. You talk about damning with faint praise the wonderful accomplishments of Bill Shine! May the Murdochs soon be sleeping with the fishes.

FOX is just disintegrating before our eyes.

More like being ripped apart from the inside.

Rachel Madcow gives it Two Thumbs Up!

Fox News Executive Departs Amid Turmoil

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/01/business/media/fox-news-bill-shine.html?smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur&_r=0

Fox News on Monday announced the exit of one of its co-presidents, Bill Shine, removing a holdover from the Roger Ailes era and signaling that the network is prepared to shake up its executive ranks as it tries to move past a season of turmoil that has engulfed it since last summer.

Mr. Shine is a veteran newsman and a longtime lieutenant to Mr. Ailes, the former chairman who was forced out amid a sexual harassment scandal in July. Although Mr. Shine was seen as a source of stability in the news division at a turbulent time, his presence was viewed by some employees as a sign that Fox News’s parent, 21st Century Fox, was not serious about its stated commitment to reform the culture of the network.

Mr. Shine had been cited in several lawsuits as someone who enabled and concealed Mr. Ailes’s behavior and dismissed concerns from women who complained about it. He has denied all wrongdoing.

ESPN I can understand. They’re not picking up on shifting demographics (kids growing up playing formalized soccer instead of football), and way under-estimated the effect of wantonly insulting viewers’ axioms (insulting flag & country is a _bad_ move).

Fox News collapsing right when right-leaning populism is taking over all three federal branches, well, you’d think FN would be _the_ media outlet channeling all that enthusiasm instead of falling apart as if HRC had won and refilled Congress as an encore.

When Intel began moving PC and micro managing back 10 years ago, they had a huge number of what I call “Heavy Lifters” who decided to retire rather than fight the nonsense.

Fox News is going to die.
Let them die.

Some of us care...I do.

There has been less and less that I care to watch, on FNC and there are NO alternatives.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Shine and Ailes form a new news network. There is definitely room in the marketplace for one.

10 years now; you’ll be happy with “cutting the cord” to the point that regular TV content & ads will nauseate you. If you’re watching ads, YOU’RE the product - drugged into compliance. (I gave up on FN years before, never able to get suitable coverage of breaking events from them.)

“....Shine’s exit is expected to fuel the speculation running inside the network that a bigger house cleaning is coming.....”

With Murdoch Jr. in charge Lord knows what that would be.
