“That may be, but methinks he comments and opines on too many things and that often feeds the media with quotes that allow them to ridicule him. Why constantly invite controversy? He should learn that less can be more.”

That is a constant question for conservatives dealing with a dishonest and hostile media.

Do you be silent and passive and try to appease them like McConnell, Bush and others?

Or do you try to speak the truth and get the message out like Trump?

The media will continually attack and ridicule Trump no matter what he says or does.

How should Trump articulate his position?

No disagreement on that point. I just think Trump shoots from the hip a little too often for his own good. Its important for him to speak out on important issues and keep the pressure on the dishonest media, but not speak on every issue. He needs to be more selective in my opinion.

As with military tactics, you don’t try to fight every battle. Only those you have the best chance of winning.

You are correct. Media attacks come no matter what. Trump continues to rule these people’s minds.
