My thoughts exactly. Or maybe, “losing, but not losing nearly as disastrously as would have been the case had Clinton won”

I have always thought that Obama was the symptom, not the cause.

NO , he is still alive.

He just got the boot with a nasty public letter.

That letter was uncalled for..and I personally think it was at the request of someone at the WH or associated with the WH..like Mercer.

They were reportedly furious over Heritage position on the last health care bill.

I know some people resigned. One VP was put on administrative leave.

Some Senators backed him trying to get Heritage to keep him.

I hope he comes out on top and opposes Heritage nonsense.

So, Where does Heritage now stand on:

1) Illegal Immigration
2) America First
3) Foreign policy

If there is going to be an in-house legislation writing group in the White House, then that is a major lesson learned.

Not good.

Unless he is running for Senate.

This article explains how Heritage was practically the transition group for DJT, now hopefully that group is transitioning to WH grounds to start writing bills.

Is the objective here passing bills? Or passing conservative bills?

Because Mercers wants Heritage to not get in the way of passing bills..and Demint got in the way.

The Mercers are conservatives, not "bill passers". I don't think they are behind this. Mike Needham of Heritage Action for America is the one who wanted DeMint gone.

Quick President Trump! Pick up Jim and put him in charge of restoring religious liberty! (And a host of other liberties Americans have been robbed of)

Where do Conservatives stand? Where do Republicans stand?

I honestly don’t know if Trumpism is the end of the Republican identity crisis or the beginning? I’m not sure anyone does.

It seems like passing bills..given how the Dems are gushing about everyone caving to them.

I wish I could point to just ONE actual accomplishment relative to the lofty principles enumerated by Mr. Saunders, and KNOW that it was accomplished through the direct influence of Heritage Foundation. For instance, there are numerous instances one could point to in which Judicial Watch has been a driving force in bringing wrong doing to light, holding officials accountable, etc. But with HF; I can’t think of any.

Step back and think about it.

Trump really wanted to pass that health care.

It was a slap in the face when he couldn’t get it done.

The reports are that WH is furious over Heritage opposing it.

Who is the big backer of Heritage.

Mercer.

Who is getting in their way.

Demint.

Palace Coup

Demint gone.

Sounds like they want Heritage to only come up with THE TALK to talk but want to have nothing to do with supporting THE WALK of those ideas.

Dusty library time.

Founder’s syndrome. DeMint’s predecessor (and now successor) has been with Heritage for almost 50 years.

Exactly! I've seen it applied to athletic coaches many times. I call it "never be the guy after The Guy." The successor doesn't usually stand a chance.

I can’t vouch for the accuracy of this but twitter is alight with the idea that Heritage was behind Obamacare.

Something about having written it..or written romneycare..not exactly sure how that plays out.

Demint had indicated that Heritage under his leadership was strongly for repealing Obamacare.

Bet that position changes now.
