You’re right but there is also the PRIMARY reason women seek to enhance their physical attributes and that is to satisfy the primary function and desires, the first and foremost of which is to reproduce.

That’s ridiculous. If it was a competition thing, many of us women would have given up long ago to the minority of women who are natural beauties.
I am a happily married old lady. When I wear makeup it is part of my costume, the look I want to present myself to the public. Without makeup I do not look well-groomed.
A woman is programmed to want to look her best. Probably ultimately connected to the biological imperative of attracting males for mating, but even those of us well past those years want to be seen as attractive by both men and women but not in a sexual way.
