The Washington Examiner ^ | May 3, 2017 | Paul Bedard

President Trump's tough talk on North Korea has apparently emboldened Americans into supporting a preemptive U.S. attack on the communist nation's nuclear weapons.

A new Zogby Analytics poll provided to Secrets found that 52 percent back a U.S. first strike.

"A majority (52 percent) of voters agree that the U.S. must deal with North Korea's nuclear threat and are willing to even support a preemptive strike, as opposed to 36 percent of voters who disagree," said the survey.

watching this thread very carefully for the large crowd of people on this forum that consistently condemn george bush because barack obama lost the iraq war. they are willing to forgive oabama for losing what they insist they were against (despite my memory that the public and this forum were massively in favor of preemption) when george bush went in.

watching very carefully.

See Secretary Tillerson’s remarks yesterday to the State Department about a “pressure campaign that has a knob on it”:

I'm wondering how many of those 52% ever served a day in the military?

Pre-emptive strikes often don't serve their purpose? Pearl Harbor?

Yeah. If we attack North Korea, we better be damned sure we KNOW they will not launch an all out ground invasion of South Korea in response. We better have China’s word to prevent NK from doing that.

Because that’s their only move. They don’t have a nuclear deterrent. They can’t hit anything. They have a chaos deterrent and they will use it.

On top of that. any strike has to be surgical, so as not to send a wave of refugees into China. That’ll probably be the way we get China to make NK stand down.

NORKS. I've not heard that one before, but it makes perfect sense. I like it. Rhymes with ORCS.

I can virtually guarantee that Lil Kim has a chain of command immediately beneath him. He's not the kind of guy who's interested in personally seeing that his directives are IMMEDIATELY obeyed. He'd have flunkies for that and since it's all controlled by the military that means senior officers. I have also no doubt that those officers are probably rotated regularly as somebody disappoints the Dear Leader and he has them and their families carted off to some compound to be torn apart by starved dogs or something. But there will be a loyal cadre right close to Dear Leader that's solely assigned to carry out directives and who should be relied upon to take command in an emergency. We don't want THOSE guys taking charge of anything. They need to meet the same fate as Dear Leader. As far as infiltrating a team being impossible, well since Dr. Mattis (M.D.) has indicated that the SEALs are training for the mission, I have to assume it IS possible.

You’re right.

Let them proceed for another 10 years because they’ll be much more advanced and hence will do less damage!! :)

Wait, there’s something wrong with that statement...

Though I care about the people, Seoul isn’t my country.

...........so, respectfully, your position is “let’s roll the dice that this retarded moron, 5 or 10 years from now, doesn’t fire off a few nukes that kill a few million Americans................???????”

So..............kinda “crapshoot foreign policy”

I heard a fragment of a news report today. Was it about submarine ports in North Korea? Thinking about NK with long distance submarines and nuclear rockets is a real nightmare for our own west coast. Does anyone know more about this??
