So, if Sheriff Clarke is a serious contender, and he might be, what are his specific qualifications and experience to head an agency the size and reach of the FBI? Could he step past the political presence he’s created in the news, supporting Trump to take on the non-partisan helm of the FBI?
I have no objection to a politically motivated appointment to the FBI as long as the person is qualified, honest, fair, and will enforce the law.
You can replace the word FBI with the word “courts”and it still fits the sentence.
Comey was a U.S. Attorney, VP Lockheed Martin, and a Deputy Attorney General. Law degree University of Chicago.
Clarke is the Milwaukee County Sheriff. Experienced lawman, but only a bachelor degree in Management of Criminal Justice. I’m sure he has a lot of self-taught knowledge of law. Cloud hanging over his department right now, due to an inmate death, which the coroner ruled was a homicide, death by dehydration. There are claims water was withheld from prisoner for six days. Probably wouldn’t be the best idea for FBI director til that gets cleared up. Lots of dirty politics up there. Police chief hates him.
Non partisan? You are aware that’s it’s in the executive branch and is not an independent entity, aren’t you? And their policies and investigative priorities should reflect the administration’s. Also they are not some national internal affairs directed to closely watch the presidency. They are not a check on the white house. Period.
There is no non-partisan FBI. They are all Soros types presently, from McCabe on down.
If he is chosen Hillary might as well preorder her orange jumpsuit. For him it’s not about politics. He will simply do what needs to be done, without a smile, and without making eye contact with a liberals he so despises.

I agree. I like this guy and hope there is a place for him in the Trump administration.
That said, there’s a big difference between being sheriff and being head of something like the FBI. Not against him, I’d just like to know more.
