High school year books confiscated due to senior’s ‘Build That Wall’ quote

A high school in North Carolina has collected all of the yearbooks that were distributed to students due to some “inappropriate” comments, including President Trump’s (in)famous phrase “Build That Wall.”

The News & Observer reports the Trump quote made by a Richmond Early College High School senior was “slammed on social media by some students and others who called it racist and hurtful to classmates.”

Thankfully for the school, only a smattering of the books had been given out before the “offensive” statements were noticed by Principal Tonya Waddell.

The district did not provide any other examples of what was deemed improper, but noted no students were disciplined.

Comments on both the News & Observer piece and school district Facebook post run the gamut from claiming the school’s actions violate the First Amendment, to the school has every right to do as it wishes regarding the yearbook.

Perhaps there was something “worse” than “Build That Wall” in the book; if not, it seems the school would be on dubious constitutional grounds. Immigration is legitimate political topic, and construction of a border wall is a legitimate, albeit partial, solution to the illegal immigration problem.

Anyone think the same thing would have happened if a black student and used the quote “Black Lives Matter”?

ICE should be at the school today deporting illegals.

Not that they will be. They can’t seem to find any even in a Mexican protest parade.

According to the original article, that same school raised issues with students for wearing t-shirts with conservative slogans on it as well as this yearbook quote. It is obvious that the principal of this school got her job via affirmative action, not brains. I hate to say it, but I’ve met plenty of black teachers and administrators like this. Their anti-white racism is blatant. Their hostility toward white colleagues is thinly veiled, if they bother at all. I think this principal should be investigated and possibly removed. There is nothing wrong with saying “Build the wall”, as it is advocating upholding the sovereignty of our nation. What, this clown thinks we should open our borders to the kind of scum Odungo imported?

Ours were delayed because someone gave the finger in his sports team picture. I still have the book with the marked out finger.

Trump’s quotes already censored as evil.

It's not the county we grew up in...

= = =

It’s not the country it was yesterday.

The country I grew up in ... Saturdays with a couple of friends. Pack a lunch and a canteen. Climb up into some nearby hills. Roll rocks, yell and echo, see no one else, make a fire and warm a can of beans, shoot off some smuggled firecrackers, run and trip and fall and sweat and rest and talk (grade school stuff no politics) and finally drag home (and wash off the day’s dirt).

If you have any opinion, you can still think.

Thinking is illegal.

they charged him with a sex crime

Should have charged the yearbook with distributing porn.

If he was under 18 when picture was taken, this is child porn.

Anyone with a yearbook possess porn, probably child porn.

He is as innocent as a bare-bottomed newborn on a bear skin rug.
