Egyptian Christians Killed for Refusing to Renounce Their Faith in Jesus

As more and more details emerge concerning Friday’s Ramadan attack on a busload of Christians on pilgrimage, the more it becomes evident that these 29 martyrs died solely because they were Christians. Survivors of the attack said that the ten masked Islamic State militants did not merely open fire on the bus full of Christian pilgrims on their way to the Monastery of Saint Samuel the Confesor, but that the victims were made to descend from the bus and asked one by one whether they were Christians before being shot by the assailants.

According to one of the chaplains of the group, Father Rashed, as each pilgrim came off the bus they were asked to renounce their Christian faith and profess belief in Islam, but all of them—even the children—refused. Each was killed in cold blood with a gunshot to the head or the throat.

In a statement Friday, President Donald Trump said the “merciless slaughter of Christians in Egypt tears at our hearts and grieves our souls.”

“Wherever innocent blood is spilled, a wound is inflicted upon humanity,” the statement said. “But this attack also steels our resolve to bring nations together for the righteous purpose of crushing the evil organizations of terror, and exposing their depraved, twisted, and thuggish ideology.”

The attack occurred in the midst of a three-month state of emergency period in Egypt following twin attacks on Coptic churches on Palm Sunday last month that killed some 46 Christians who were in church honoring the celebrations. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for those attacks as well.

Note, the liberals in the USA are not much better, if a business doesn’t condone their liberal beliefs, they will do all they can to destroy it.

Here’s some guidance for all of us.

“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.” - Matthew 10:32-33

I would like to think I’d do the moral thing, and continue proclaiming my devotion to The Trinity, but to be truthful, I cannot guarantee that interests of self preservation wouldn’t overwhelm me at that very moment. I know this is not the right answer for any ‘real’ Christian, but I’m telling the truth as I now know it to be.

A major difference between most of us in the United States and those Blessed Martyrs of Christ in Egypt is that most Americans did not grow up in an environment where there was a general understanding that one day, you may lose your life by stating your allegiance to Jesus Christ, God or any form of deity other than Allah. I know I never worried about that as a child. Ever. Back then, it seemed only a remote possibility, something confined to history books, or missalettes in Catechism classes.

I'm pretty certain he wasn't talking only about members of NPBC.

The bestowal of dying grace on Christians by the Lord Jesus Christ is a re-curring theme in the New Testament.

Exactly! and that is the difference between Bible Christianity (based wholly on the final authority of Scripture) versus the nominal ‘christendom’ based on tradition and hierarchical authority.

One has the living, ever-present Holy Spirit whereby the saved are sealed against the redemption of the purchased possession - us; while the other has ‘best intentions.’

One is the narrow way and the other we know pave the street to hell.

There is no ‘taqiyya’ in Christianity.

Anyway, a Moslem will still cut your head off, but he’ll think you are no longer an infidel as he’ll expect you to immediately acknowledge Allaxnder.
