To: Extremely Extreme Extremist

One of the things that gets me is why President Polk didn’t squeeze more concessions from the British/Canada. The St. Lawrence River should be the NE boundary of the U.S., with Nova Scotia and Newfoundland U.S. states.

I’m sure my family in Canada would be happy to take Alaska off your hands!!:)

The question is would Alaska be willing to become Canadian? The answer is probably no, Canada’s North West Territories don’t compare to Alaska in terms of population or economic output.

I kind of agree thou it made more since to have the Saint Lawrence as a border but Nova Scotia was already a colony under British domination. Maybe a good thing as the last thing this country needs is anther lasy new England state.
