That's exactly what this is. European socialists have been able to luxuriate under the protective umbrella afforded by American taxpayers. I am just saddened by what Germany has become, wondering if they are capable of remembering they were the people who finally defeated the Roman Empire, just as a start.

They were once great warriors, including in the 20th century. They need to pray for forgiveness every day relating to the (Satanic) Nazi era, and pray that they never again turn their backs on God. Then I think they need to carry on as a nation.

You're right. At one time they were a bulwark against the Bolsheviks. But they went with national socialism and that led them to ruin. I think if Merkel would take a different tack and agree to stand with Trump and the US, DJT would have no problem embracing that because he is simply following his stated policy of making decisions from the viewpoint of putting American interests at the head of the list.
