I admire the Principal’s willingness to get involved, but there should at least be one Security Guard available who has been trained in conflict resolution when dealing with adolescents or teens. Or an Assistant Principal. Some schools don’t want ‘outsiders’ knowing about what happens on school grounds. Police reports become public knowledge. Perhaps many such incidents would negatively effect that school’s ratings and donations.
This school is part of the Philadelphia School District, not a Charter school. They may not have the personnel/resources to add additional security.
If public schools had videocams with tapes available to the public, people would become aware of what goes on inside them. You have to see it to believe it.
The only conflict resolution in a case like this involves a baseball bat, Taser or .40 caliber and a set of handcuffs.
Lee,, A Security Guard trained in conflict resolution would have prevented this entire incident. By the way, is there any chance you would be in the market for a bridge? I have a real honey for sale.
