The sub text of most comedy is hate and anger. We hurt people, and it’s funny. We make fun of people when we’re young etc.
Go to any standup act, and you’ll find a good number direct their humor at people in the audience with a thinly cloaked hatred. Much now is directed towards Trump.
I agree with you, that she’ll have come back, but it’s based on Trump failing. She will wake up every day praying for Trump to fail, to screw up. If this happens, she’ll be a hero....but I don’t see it.
Trump is going to take over the narrative starting tomorrow. I don’t see him putting much more explaining by Spicer. He will start giving long detailed press conferences, and he’ll explain himself to these idiots.

There's some question about whether Franken actually got enough votes the first time he ran.
But he's an exception. I'm not saying this thing has destroyed Kathy Griffin, but it hasn't made her either.
After the initial buzz dies down she's going to go back to doing the kind of fourth-rate stuff she's been doing for the last decade.
Comedians like her may be more likely to commit suicide or die of overdoses than to end up in Congress or in endowed chairs.
What career? She was practically an unknown in the comedy world, and is certainly not anything remotely close to funny. She needs to stop whining and assuming her privilege. Taking your lumps for bad decisions is what adults are supposed to do.

Kathy Griffin was funny for about the five minutes between the time it was fun and thrilling to hear women engage in filthy speech and when that sort of comedy became tiresome and boring.
