31,487 U.S. Scientists Reject Global Warming Hoax
Fairfax Free Citizen ^ | June 4, 2017 | Jonathon A Moseely

Posted on 06/04/2017 3:00:50 PM PDT by Moseley

A growing list of 31,487 U.S. scientists (and counting) has signed a petition strongly rejecting as unproven the hypothesis of man-made global warming or climate change. These signers include four NASA astronauts, at least two Nobel Prize winning physicists, 9,029 Ph.D.s and some of the nation’s top climatologists. Only U.S. scientists are included in this particular petition. Only relevant scientific fields are included.

The “Global Warming Petition Project” includes a dramatically strong statement to which 31,487 scientists have already signed their names:

"There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth."

Make that 31,488. This retired nuclear physicist rejects it, too!

“That still would not tell you what happens on a planet-wide scale to the circulation of heat-carrying gases from the Earth’s surface up to high altitudes.”

Actually, there is and has been for decades: DMSP spacecraft. Been measuring the atmosphere for very long time. No glowbull warming. Cooling by a small amount, but no warming.

Agreed, but I mean that in parallel with the fact that the Earth refuses to cooperate with the computer models, the underlying theory makes no sense. The advocates for climate alarmism cannot explain the supposed mechanism for how this is supposed to happen... without making glaring assumptions. That’s how I see it anyway.

Make that 2 nukes who additionally oppose it (adding the retired nuke professor I know at PSU, that would make 3). So make that 31490!

Petition project volunteers evaluate each signers’s credentials, verify signer identities, and, if appropriate, add the signer’s name to the petition list.

This petition is primarily circulated by U. S. Postal Service mailing to scientists. Included in this mailing are the petition card, the letter from Frederick Seitz, the review article, and a return envelope. If a scientist wishes to sign, he fills out the petition and mails it to the project by first class mail.

Signatories are approved for inclusion in the Petition Project list if they have obtained formal educational degrees at the level of Bachelor of Science or higher in appropriate scientific fields. The petition has been circulated only in the United States.

In his book “The Trouble with Physics,” Lee Smolin says that string theory has its own problems, and alternate views are not well-funded due to the positive bias regarding string theory.

There are only about 18,000 climatologists WORLD-WIDE.

The Petition project has 31,487 scientists only in the USA STRONGLY opposed to man-made climate change.

Even if 97% of climatologists — a made-up discipline like gender equity studies — support global warming, that’s not very many scientists compared to those who reject it.

Think about it:

What is a “climatologist?”

Apart from the hoax of man-made climate change, what does a climatologist do?

Climatologists don’t exist apart from the study of global warming.

So what would one expect a climatologist to say?

It’s like a gender equity studies major saying there is no sexism in America.

I am also a signer of this Petition. Not only is it non-factual, but bad statistics have been used and only select datapoints that support the AGW position were used. Plus, we have no valid climatalogical data from before 1800 really.

>>A different theory or opinion about the data or its accuracy isn’t the work of “deniers” in science- that’s something heresy hunters use in religion and politics to stifle dissent. And that’s dangerous.

The real damage from the Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming hysteria and money/power grab is to Science.

Lysenko Science isn’t Science, and that is the field many are reduced to working in. It is not a pretty thing.

The AGW people will counter that the greenhouse effects of water vapor are temperature dependent, whereas those of CO2 remain the same no matter what the temperature is. So CO2 becomes the more important of the two.

The current PPM of CO2 is 410; at the end of the Ice Age it was 180. During the Jurassic Period it is said to have been 1800 PPM. During the Cambrian Period CO2 was 7000 PPM. I’m wondering if the AGW crew fears that only dinosaurs and fish will inherit the Earth if we keep burning coal.

I checked to see what the average temp of the Earth is estimated to have been during the Cambrian Period of high CO2; 72 F compared to today’s 54 F. Interestingly the article claimed that temperature extremes weren’t as large as today. They said there wasn’t ice at the poles so perhaps there weren’t any extremely hot regions as well.

A science that can go from predicting a coming Ice Age to hysteria over Man-caused Global Warming during my lifetime is one I regard with suspicion. Climate science reminds me of economics- there’s a myriad of factors at work, not all of them are well understood or even known, and those who claim to predict the future are pretending to greater knowledge than they actually possess.
