True story. For a while in High School I dated the Sheriff’s daughter. She was as pretty as could be. The first time I went to pick her up for a date he was sitting by the front door cleaning his big Smith and Wesson. No kidding. Didn’t even comment on it, just said, “Have her back by 10:00.”
I came from an area where that was common too. There were a whole lot of fathers in my town who must have had exceptionally clean guns. The difference is I mostly saw shotguns.
