why wouldn’t Trump mention Flynn? Jan 24th report he was in the clear, backed by CNN on the 16th - 2 days after ‘dinner for 2’.

So why would Comey say, he couldn’t/wouldn’t verify that Flynn was in the clear, when CNN comes out with their story 2 days later that the FBI says he’s in the clear?

I have been wondering that for a long time....

Why doesn’t the president....or anyone else...mention that
Gen. Flynn was cleared by the FBI on January 24th?

Flynn's "status" actually changed a few times. When Trump and Comey first met, Flynn was really the victim of an outrage perpetrated by the Obama administration when his identity was unmasked and later leaked to the media during their foreign surveillance.

Then his reputation took a hit over the whole incident where he lied to VP Pence about his prior contact with the Russians, but lying to the VP wasn't a crime and surely wouldn't have warranted any scrutiny by the FBI.

Flynn's situation didn't really become problematic from a formal/legal standpoint until March, when questions began to surface about his work for foreign governments while he was being considered for his Trump administration post.
