Why is Trump teasing Comey (and us) about taping his conversations?
americanthinker.com ^ | 6/10/2017 | Thomas Lifson

Posted on 06/10/2017 6:38:25 AM PDT by rktman

There is almost universal bewilderment over President Trump raising the possibility that his conversations with James Comey were captured by a recording system he had installed in the White House. Memories immediately turn to the experience of President Nixon with White House tapes being subpoenaed. That did not end well for Nixon, and raising the possibility that Trump White House conversations could be subject to subpoenas – perhaps from a Democrat-controlled House of Representatives in 2019 – has both friends and foes of the president scratching their heads.

You know there is. The globalist left plays those deep games but they have found as an opponent someone who plays deeper than they can imagine.

“There is almost universal bewilderment over President Trump raising the possibility that his conversations with James Comey were captured by a recording system”

Lifson was also bewildered when President Trump said he was being “wire tapped. “

That’s okay Thomas, you might catch on eventually.

If he said he may have tapes of the conversations, it was to keep Comey in check so he did not lie and exaggerate conversations. Smart move either way - with or without tapes.

I'm not so sure. If the deep state and establishment Republicans continue to frustrate what we voted for in 2016, I could see voters punishing Republicans. If there is no tax reform, if there is not Obamacare repeal, if immigration issues are languishing in the courts and Trump is under assault everywhere, with no help from his own party, I could see a monster blowout election.

At the same time, if Republicans actually accomplished all those priorities of the Trump voters, the economy would be gaining steam, jobs would be increasing and people would be happy with the direction of the country. Republicans could gain seats in the house and get over 60 in the Senate. But I think it is true that Ryan, McConnell and a great many congressional Republicans do not want to do those things, they just want it to appear that they tried.

“Possible that Trump has found a bug left behind by the Obama people, too.”

I believe the following reasons should motivate any American/freedom loving patriotic administration to seek to do business outside of the iconic and traditional work places known to the agencies of government.

1. The WH has been targeted by intelligence services around the world for many decades.

2. The holy grail of political power mongers has been to know the conversations, secrets, and intentions of the opposing party and or administrations.

3. Socialist/progressive left administrations have for decades been involved in firing and placing near universal and loyal socialist/progressive officers and personnel throughout the plethora of US government security agencies, and all other agencies of our government.

4. WH renovations and expansions have almost continually taken place under left wing administrations.

For these reasons alone, it would be suicide for any patriotic American loving administration to be involved in decision making conversations and business within known Executive Branch administrative locations.

Prudence would take into account a 5th important reason for seeking a truly secure working environment.

#5. While the general public or even a particular government agency may not have the permission or ability to access encrypted communication and phone conversations, I assure you there are those who do have this ability, and continue to do this very thing.

Additionally, is there even a single communications company which is not owned and full of anti American/anti Trump employees? Not even Apple.

This fifth reason is almost universally pervasive by itself.

I might add, the Russians, progressive left in our own government, and all globalist seeking sovereignty over the US economy and electorate have everything to lose with a successful Trump administration.

The world is most definitely at war with conservatism and our elected administration!

There’s almost nothing I’d disbelieve anymore.

I do believe POTUS is wary of any and all detritus left behind by the previous administration.
