From what I understand in modern systems, if critical components of sprinkle systems are shut off such as pumps or main valves it triggers a “trouble” alarm in the fire panel. it will not sound the alarm and cause a evacuation, but the alarm company will get a alert that something is wrong.

The residents are mostly Islamic. This is karma. Did a Islamic bomb makers start this fire?

Theoretically a Jihadi could still martyr himself by blowing a suicide vest in an apartment full of flamables.

There are questions about the external “cladding” as possibly being responsible for the extremely rapid spread...that may go along with what you saw.

Oh, man, is that horrific.... always was afraid of buildings like that.

My wife's oldest sister used to live in a multi-story apartment complex. She deliberately chose a first-floor apartment close to the main entrance. Said it was part of her plan to survive if there was a fire. The whole extended family laughed at her. A few years later, she called me and asked me to pick her up and take her in. Her building had a major fire, and some people died on an upper floor. Well, we weren't laughing anymore. She stayed with us for a while until she relocated, now has a home (one-story rancher, of course).

Assuming all apartments are on the outside they could be trapped in stairwells, which may be pressurized or hallways. If a apartment has a room with no outside walls it is possible, but unlikely they could have survived in there as interior apartment walls are less likely to be fire rated as the wall between the hallway and apartment.

Any person stupid enough to follow islam is stupid enough to burn their own building down.

There are blogs where residents have been complaining for years about maintenance issues.
Property is owned by the local borough council with management outsourced to a third party.

Yeah, but will the surviving ramadingdongs forego tea and water today to keep celebrating the goodness of ramadingdong?

If a refrigerator really blew up, it should have been contained to that apartment by sprinkles and firewalls. It appears the fire started outside the building and rapidly burned up the side of the building, causing windows to fail and engulf each floor.

resident being interviewed on SkyNews says building was just refurbished 6 months ago, her apartment/flat she says was “new”.....

Don’t know how extensive the work was or if the whole building was really re-done significantly, but that is an interesting bit of info... I was assuming everything was probably decades old, but maybe not.

“They have been through a lot of horrors in recent weeks.”

And based on how they voted on the last election, haven’t learned a thing.

Someone on BBC said a tenant said his "refrigerator exploded", causing the fire.. And I immediately thought that if a refrigerator were strapped shut with a bomb inside, that would be one horrendous pressure cooker bomb.

I'm leaning to the theory that says an accelerant was spread throughout the building via the elevators or stairwells.

Not only that, but supposedly it started on the 26th floor and spread downwards???

What kind of fire does that?

Supposedly a decent Muslim population in that building from one witness.

I was assuming everything was probably decades old, but maybe not.

In the video feed, they mentioned the building was just recently remodeled with new cladding on the outside, to make the building prettier and more attractive. Well, that didn't work out well because the fire spread up the outside cladding and blew out windows, possibly spreading the fire.
