Yes, but the families owning them often have to work non-farm jobs to support them.

Yes, but the families owning them often have to work non-farm jobs to support them.

you got that right! Farming is the biggest gamble there is. Established legacy farms learn how to manage during the ups and downs. The newbies are troubling. Farming is expensive.
