Nunes: 'We Have to Stop Chasing Russian Ghosts Around the Closet and Actually Get to Real Work!'
PJ Media ^ | 06-20-2017 | Michael van der Galien

House Intelligence Chair Devin Nunes has completely had it with his Democratic colleagues in Washington and with the elite (mainstream) media who continuously imply that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians in order to win last year's presidential elections. According to Nunes there is no 'there' there. No smoking gun. Nothing. It's all innuendo. And it's harming the country.

In a speech at the Orange County Republican Party's annual Flag Day Salute on Saturday, Nunes said he looked into possible connections between Trump and the Kremlin:

"I said, 'OK, I don't think there's any collusion here.' And what happened to me? All the major papers in the country did a total character assassination on me. Why? Because I was telling the truth, that there was never any collusion between Donald Trump and the Russians."

That's why:

"I have to ask myself, Was this really an investigation in search of a crime? And I will tell you, if that's what it ends up being, there will be a huge, huge division in this country."

Nunes went on to explain that he had one simple message for his fellow Republicans:

"We have to stop chasing Russian ghosts around the closet and actually get to real work."

In other words, instead of arguing with Democrats about the Russians, Republicans have to start pushing their health care overhaul, their deregulation agenda, and their tax cuts.

Sadly, there's one minor problem: as long as Democrats and their allies in the media continue to push the Russia meme, Republicans can try to talk about real issues as much as they want, but it won't change a thing if the other side doesn't play along. And this is the problem: they won't.

The point of the Russian ghosts is so you can’t get to work.

This is what Democrats consider ‘real work’: wasting taxpayer money (pocketing some of it), spreading misinformation to sow confusion, and getting their 15 minutes of CNN fame.

I hope PRO-TRUMP REPUBLICANS are planning to run against every obstructionist lawmaker. There is work to do to Make America Great Again. If sitting legislators can’t run with the BIG DOGS, they must sit on the porch.

Ultimately a Russia that having suffered nearly ninety years of soul crushing, debilitating communism, reborn as a nation respecting its culture and heritage, will have more in common with a nationalistic America that embraces similar values than the degenerate globalists/marxists who dominate the EU. That is why the Left is so desperate to drive a wedge between Russia and America.

If we’re gonna spend time investigating, make it actual crimes like 0bama’s IRS targeting, the use of the FBI, NSA, CIA to spy on political opponents.

During Clinton's impeachment, didn't the Dems (and their media) complain about how it was distracting from the "people's work", that Congress wasn't getting any real work done?

Of course, Dems do not believe in equivalency until they feel they've been wronged.

Say, Nunes,
Whyn’t you FIRST UN-recuse your cowardly self on the ‘unmasking’ criminals and get THAT investigation going - among others.

Instead of just sitting by and letting this Dark State of the dems and the GOP Elite masquerade dominate the new and DC - Start some REAL investigation : “unmask-gate”, Lynch-Comey crime, Hitlery’ emails, Clinton Play for Pay, - get THEM on the defensive for REAL crimes....

Get SESSIONS to act like an AG...

COWARDS

And if they got to work, the world would see just what they're made of.

Isn’t Nunes’ party in the majority and as chairman, does he not set the agenda?

TRUTH is something the democrats and media have no understanding of they only care about obtaining power at any cost anything that stands in their way will pay the price.
Back fire to ensue both have no trust from the people.

-- During Clinton's impeachment, didn't the Dems (and their media) complain about how it was distracting from the "people's work", that Congress wasn't getting any real work done? --

They were also viscious in attacking Ken Starr.

October 7, 1998

Mr. Hastings of Florida (for himself and Mr. Kennedy of Rhode Island) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Rules

RESOLUTION

Directing the Committee on the Judiciary to undertake an inquiry into whether grounds exist to impeach Kenneth W. Starr, an independent prosecutor of the United States.

Whereas Mr. Kenneth Starr, an independent counsel of the United States, has conducted a 4-year $40,000,000 investigation which has yielded little of substantive value;

Whereas he leaked grand jury testimony;

Whereas he intimidated witnesses;

Whereas he built a case based on tape recordings which had been both taped illegally and tampered with; and

Whereas he provided Congress with a 1-sided report of his 4-year investigation: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the Committee on the Judiciary is directed to investigate and report to the House whether grounds exist to impeach Kenneth W. Starr. Upon completion of such investigation, the Committee shall report to the House its recommendations with respect thereto, including, if the Committee so determines, a resolution of impeachment.
